Forum Additions, Features and Upgrades

It's getting tedious making a seperate thread every time I want/need to inform you of a change, addition, removal, etc that I make to the forums. So In a effort for simplicity I'm going to start posting them all in this thread and this thread alone. I'll open a companion thread in the discussion board for you all to discuss the changes, but for no one I'll keep all the update posts in here.

I finally caved and shelled out the $30 to renew my access to the vBulletin members area and as such have upgraded the forums to latest, most stable version. However, as we have a few customized portions of our board I am not 100% sure how the upgrade will affect them, so if you should notice anything not behaving correctly or looking funny please PM me as soon as possible so that I can repair the issue. Thanks!

I believe it was Pavlos who requested to be able to see each members individual timezone, current time and date. I could be mistaken about who it was, but that feature is now added. When you navigate to a users profile (for an example, click on my name and click View Public Profile) at the very bottom you will see a World Map. This world map will have the users timezone Highlighted and it will have the users Current Time and Date stamped in the bottom left.

A small addition, but I still thought I'd make mention of it. From now on the forums should automatically create a thread for every active users birthday in the Off-Topic forum. This will only work if you have a Birthday specified in your User CP.

I have fixed an issue in teh Kirsch style that was preventing the images in the Quick Reply and Quick Edit boxes from displaying. It was casuing stretching and annoying me, it is now fixed.

As well I have fixed an issue that was preventing registered non-Oromean members from using custom avatars. You should now be able to use them. They, however, must meet the following criteria:

• They must be 90x90 or less
• They must be 2000kb or less
• They must be a valid image extension such as jpg, gif or png. I believe flash extensions will work as well.

I take it back, I have now broken the applications by trying to upgrade them. For the time being, until I can fix this issue, I will post a dummy application in a thread, if you would like to apply please Copy that into a new thread with the title "Membership Application for Char Name" and replace Char name with your desired characters name.

Now, for those of you that don't have your own website, don't you just hate having to deal with Imageshack and the like? Well I have seen fit to help you out with your image sharing problems. Behold the PhotoPlog Gallery!

Now every member of this forum has the ability to uplaod images to my server. You can use them here or any site you wish (this is me being very generous) and the codes to do so are provided by the gallery (under each image). I've tested it out and it seems to be working fine, but if you find any problems PLEASE let me know. Right now there are only 2 categories General and Games, I will add more if people request it.

Though I felt like bieng a nice guy and installing this for you all AND allowing off-site linking there are a few restrictions and they depend upon your standing with this us. Here they are:

Unregistered Users: May not see or use the gallery in any way.
Unconfirmed Users: May see the gallery and comments but can not upload or post comments, please check your e-mail for the verification code.
Registered Users: Each file may be no large than 256kb and you can upload a maximum of 25 images. You can comment on every image but may not edit or delete your comments.
Foreign Emissaries: Same Restrictions as Registered Users.
Oromean Members: Each file may be no larger than 500kb and you can upload a maximum of 50 images. You can comment on every image and may edit and delete your own comments only.
Edan en Oromea / Tawaraith Members: Same restrictions as Oromean Members.
Lathruin Members: Each file may be no alrger than 1mb and you can upload a maximum of 100 images. Members of the Lathruin can view and post comments. Additionally they can edit and delete comments from any users.

Edit: Template edits are complete, you should now be able to access the gallery from the Quick Links drop down. Again, enjoy!

When the template edits are complete you can find a link to the gallery under "Quick Links" in the top right under the Miscellaneus category.

Some changes, mostly minor:

• Forums have been upgraded to the latest stable release, vBulletin 3.5.4
• the evoNature style has returned completely bug free, I hope.
• A new style called "guitar" has been added, I removed the guitar from it and changed out the music statuscons, I liked this style but the guitar definately did not fit...so it had to go!
• The link to the gallery should now be on every style
• You should now be able to see every members local timezone, date and time in their profile on every style, this was previously only available on the vBulletin Default and Steel Green styles.

Minor change: I didn't notice at first that with the upgrade to version 3.5.4 of vBulletin the link to the Arcade went missing. This problem has since been corrected on all stlyes, you can find a link to the Arcade on 'Quick Links' drop down menu at the top, under the Miscellaneous section.
