Default Malware, Spam and User Registration

Firstly, I want to apologize for the recent troubles peopl have experienced with the forums. Please be aware that I am working to resolve these issues as expediently as possible.

As of yet we have been unable to pin down how the breach is continuing to happen, as we have closed every possible opening that we can find. Part of the issue is that the .htaccess file for the domain keeps bring re-written, and that is how you are being re-directed to these various sites. I am working with vBulletin and Site5 to locate and resolve the issue, but as you can tell we have so far been unsuccessful.

We ask for your continued patience while we resolve these issues, and want to make you aware of some steps we have taken and some steps we recommend you take to avoid any potential threats:
    • We have disabled new user registrations on the forums for the time being. If someone needs to register an account they can send me an e-mail directly (vadriel [at] oromea [dot] com) or use the Contact page and I will manually add them.
    On your end:
    • DO NOT visit the sites or accept the redirects that you may receive when browsing the forums.
    • IGNORE any messages about viruses or trojans UNLESS they come from a reputable anti-virus software (McAfee or Norton).
    • DO NOT download anything that you may be presented with.
    • DO NOT click on links from users you do not know.
    • If you are experiencing the re-direction issue try CLEARING your browser CACHE and COOKIES, this will help flush out some of the issues after we have made an update.
Again, be patient and I will keep updating this thread with news.
